New Government Guidance for Face Masks / Coverings
As of July, both the Government and Public Health England have issued new guidance on face masks or coverings when in some public areas. As such, we now have the following updated guidance:
In the surgery
For your safety and ours, you must wear a face mask or covering when attending the Spinney Surgery. This includes coming into the lobby to collect medication as well as attending for appointments with either a clinician or healthcare assistant. Your face covering must cover your nose and mouth at all times.
As per the guidance from Public Health England, children under the age of three years old do not need to wear a mask as they can cause choking or suffocation.
In some public places
Please be aware that from July 24th, it is also mandatory to wear a face covering in shops and supermarkets, as well as on public transport. People wearing face coverings are also strongly advised to:
- wash their hands or use hand sanitiser before putting one on or taking it off
- avoid taking it off and putting it back on again a lot in quick succession
- store it in a plastic bag in between washes or wearing
- avoid touching their eyes, nose, or mouth while wearing one
