Living Well with Hearing Loss workshops

Posted on August 12th, 2019

Hearing loss effect all of us.  About 1 in 6 adults have a hearing loss and by the age of 70 it is well over 50% of the population.  The truth is most of us will have to learn to live with hearing loss, whether our own, or that of a loved one.

Cambridgeshire Hearing Help are now running free workshops to support people who are concerned about hearing loss, whether for themselves or as carers for others. Anyone who has tried hearing aids but continues to struggle with them would also be welcome.

The workshops offer information about hearing loss and how to manage it for a better long-term outcome in a relaxed and informal setting. There is an opportunity for people and their partners, carers or companions to discuss the day-to-day challenges of poor hearing and better ways to cope together, with the support of peers.

There will be a free workshop on 19 September 2019,  10.30 am – 1 pm at Huntingdon Library, Princes St, Huntingdon, PE29 3PA however other venues and dates are also available.

Booking is via the website or telephone 01223 849798. There is also an online course which you can take via their website.

The project is supported by Cambridge University Hospitals (Addenbrooke’s) audiology services and is funded by the Eastern Academic Health Science Network and Cambridge Hearing Trust.
