Information about the COVID-19 Vaccine
The NHS will be starting to vaccinate the most at-risk groups, including over 80s and social care workers, in the hospital hubs when they have the vaccines in place.
People who fall into the priority groups over the coming weeks will be contacted by the NHS to book appointments. At present, no surgery in St Ives has the vaccine and the earliest we would be considered for being involved in a vaccination programme is January 11th 2021 when the Astra Zeneca vaccine is available. We ask that patients refrain from contacting the surgery about being vaccinated as all we know is what is here in this update.
Public-facing communications will be led by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), working with the NHS, Public Health England (PHE) and other Government departments, and they will begin shortly.
You can help the NHS deliver this effectively to those who need it most.
Please do not contact the NHS to seek a vaccine before you have been invited. When your invite comes, please make sure you follow all guidance and ensure to attend your appointments once arranged. In the mean time, we must ask that you continue to abide by all the social distancing rules including wearing face masks and regular hand hygiene in order to keep you and others safe.
