Booking An appointment

You can contact us about making an appointment or an administrative issue (including sick note and medication requests) by clicking here or the link above.

This online form is available 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday. If you put in your KLINIK form after 3pm it may not be looked at until the following working day. We aim to action any medication or administration questions within 3 working days.

KLINIK is the quickest and simplest way for the majority of our patients to access our team for assistance. You may be given advice on self care after filling it in or the form may go to the team at the Spinney where our senior GPs look at the information that has been provided and it is triaged.

Our phone lines remain open for anyone with accessibility needs who might find difficulty completing this form, please contact us on 01480 495347 if you require any assistance. Our friendly, helpful reception team will fill it in for you. If you come to reception they will help you fill in the form on a tablet computer. There is free NHS Wifi at the surgery so you can come down and connect and fill it in here.

We will then get in touch with you either by e-mail, text or telephone.

KLINIK – Spinney Surgery’s Online Contact System

What is KLINIK?

KLINIK is an online service that allows patients to contact the practice regarding both clinical and non-clinical queries without having to phone. You can also use the system to request sick notes, request an appointment and fill in an online form regarding your symptoms.

Please note this service is only available to patients registered with the Spinney Surgery.

This service is open from 7:30am Monday to Friday.

Patients registered with the Spinney Surgery can use this service to contact the surgery for multiple reasons such as:

If you select ‘New Health Problem’, you will be asked to asked whereabouts the location of your symptoms are (if there is a specific location – if not you can leave this blank), the duration of your Symptoms, your sex assigned at birth and your age.

You will then be asked to select your symptoms from the options menu, and once you have selected your symptoms, you will be asked about your following symptoms and then if you have any more urgent symptoms.

You will then be asked about any previous treatment to your symptoms and then if your concerns and expectations if you have any.

After you have gone through these stages, you will be asked to fill in your details and any appointment preferences if there are any.

If you select ‘Ongoing Health Problem’, you will be asked to asked whereabouts the location of your symptoms are (if there is a specific location – if not you can leave this blank), the duration of your Symptoms, your sex assigned at birth and your age.

You will then be asked to select your symptoms from the options menu, and once you have selected your symptoms, you will be asked about your following symptoms and then if you have any more urgent symptoms.

You will then be asked about any previous treatment to your symptoms and then if your concerns and expectations if you have any.

After you have gone through these stages, you will be asked to fill in your details and any appointment preferences if there are any.

When putting a medication request using KLINIK, please include as much information as possible.

When requesting a sick note, please include as much information as possible such as:

– The dates that you need your certificate from and to

-The reason you need a certificate

-When you last saw someone about why you need your sick note

-Why you need a sick note

Please do not call the surgery to speak to the Secretary team as this is no longer an option.

Please use KLINIK to request any forms that need filling in, a summary of your records and give the secretaries  information that they have asked for or ask a question about the progress of a form or referral.

However if not, use Klinik to ask questions. However, questions will be answered in date order so please be patient as urgent clinical problems come first but we hope that having this option will be helpful.

The NHS App

What the NHS App does

Order repeat prescriptions – see your available medicines, request a new repeat prescription and choose a pharmacy for your prescriptions to be sent to.

Book appointments – search for, book and cancel appointments at your GP surgery, and see details of your upcoming and past appointments.

Check your symptoms – search trusted NHS information and advice on hundreds of conditions and treatments, and get instant advice or medical help near you.

Register your organ donation decision – choose to donate some or all of your organs and check your registered decision.

Find out how the NHS uses your data – choose if data from your health records is shared for research and planning.

View parts of your GP record – including information about medication, allergies, vaccinations, previous illnesses and test results.

1. Enter your email address and select ‘Continue’.

2. Select to set up a new NHS login.

3. Create an account using your NHS number OR name, date of birth and postcode.

4. Create a password and select ‘Continue’.

5. A code will be sent to your email address to confirm who you are.

6. Enter your mobile number. You will be sent a security number via text to confirm your mobile number.

7. Once your registration is complete, you will be asked if you are happy to share your details from your GP Surgery with the NHS App – choose ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ and select ‘Continue’.

9. Next, you will need to confirm your identity. All you need to do is upload a picture of your photo ID and then take a photo of yourself. The App will securely check your images and confirm your identity.

10. Now you’re free to explore the App. If your device uses fingerprint or face scanning, you can choose to use that to make logging into the NHS App even more effortless.

To register using the NHS App or Website you will need a mobile phone number, email address, a valid form of photo ID (see more info below).

Forms of photo ID that you can use:

– Passport (except Syrian passport)

– UK Driving Licence (Full or Provisional)

– European Driving Licence (Full)

– European national identity card (except paper Italian ID card or Greek ID card)

– UK residence card or biometric residence permit (BRP)

Email: You may already use an email for other things such as your home shopping, library / socia groups or internet provider etc.

If not, you can create a free secure email address using services such as: Google Gmail, Microsoft Outlook or Apple iCloud Mail.

Smartphone: If you don’t have a smartphone or can’t download apps, you can use the NHS login to access the same services through a web browser on your computer or laptop.

System Online

Online services allow you to:

  • book, check or cancel appointments with a GP, nurse or other healthcare professional 
  • order repeat prescriptions
  • see parts of your health record, including information about medicines, vaccinations and test results
  • see communications between your GP surgery and other services, such as hospitals

Additional Access and Home Visits

Additional Access

Patients of our practice are now able to book routine appointments to be seen by doctors, nurses and healthcare assistants in the evenings and at weekends in Improved Access – a new service provided by West Cambs Federation.

This service is available to all patients in this area seven days a week in sessions at the below clinics:

  •  Acorn Surgery, Huntingdon
  •  Buckden Surgery, Buckden
  •  Cornerstone Surgery, March
  •  Riverport Medical Practice, St. Ives/Somersham/Fenstanton
  • Moat House Surgery, Warboys

Home Visits

If you are very unwell and are unable to come to the practice please let the surgery know by filling in a Klinik form. or if you are unable to do this then call reception and the reception team will help you fill one in . You may be advised to call an ambulance or a visit from the Joint Emergency Team (JET) team will be arranged for you. At the Spinney we have a visiting paramedic called Mr Jack West who may also be the best person to come. One of the GP team may also be the best person to visit.

We work together with other teams who visit people at home including the home visiting team (for babies and children under 5), the District Nursing team, the Huntingdon cancer care Nurses and the Macmillan team. The social prescribing link workers and the health coaches can also arrange to visit people who are housebound in their homes.
